Brendan and I walk down the main street of Talkeetna as we wait for our plane ride out of town. We had to wait 24 hours for skys to clear. We carry the CMCs - Clean Mountain Cans - what a mountaineer poops in on the side of a mountain. The Roadhouse is to our right, a Talkeetna breakfast institution.
Brendan controls nausea on the plane ride in. Ellen, his mum, sits beside him, in seeming comfort and enjoying the view.
The Great Gorge from the beaver (small plane)
Lunch after arrival and set up in the Mountain House. Looking towards Denali (Mt McKinley) that is currently shrouded in cloud as the weather socks in.
After a night of snow storm and winds, we woke up to a bluebird day and a foot and a half of fresh powder snow
I'm on clear-the-path-to-the-dunny-duty. It took me about 20 minutes in the thick new snow.
Skinning up to climb up the hill again for another run. What fun.
Our ski tracks from the cream-cheese snow
One helleva sunny day to be here. We're ecstatic.
