I got back to Anchorage in time to play a 15 minute set with Belugarass at Anchorage's annual folk fest. I work with Jon, the guitarist, and he works with the other guys in the band at the huge Anchorage outdoor equiptment store, REI. We played five bluegrass standards. Our set was sandwiched between a group of cloggers in red shiny shirts doing "YMCA" with lots of audience participation, and a local singer songwriter. The festival goes for two weekends and one week. The highlight for me will be the band, The Improbabillies, playing for two contra dances and a gig this Friday night.
